Orange Glazed Salmon with asparagus

What to serve with orange glazed salmon

You can most certainly eat this fish all on its own, but I like to serve it with a tasty side dish and my favorite is asparagus.

Try our oven roasted asparagus recipe, or to keep the delicious flavor of honey and orange, cook in the glaze marinade used for the salmon. I’ve included the recipe steps for cooking asparagus with salmon below.

You can also serve with a simple green salad or try our crispy shredded sweet potatoes.

Tools needed to make orange glazed salmon:

To make honey orange glazed salmon, a few tools will help the process along so you can sit and eat a hot meal with your family!

Ingredients for orange glazed salmon:

  • Salmon filets, preferably wild-caught Alaskan Salmon
  • Orange juice, fresh or regular orange juice will work too.
  • Honey, plain honey is best.
  • Extra virgin olive oil
  • Balsamic vinegar
  • Garlic cloves, finely minced
  • Asparagus washed and tough end removed.
  • Sea salt and black pepper, to taste

How to make orange glazed salmon recipe:

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F and line a large, rimmed baking sheet with a piece of parchment paper or a Silpat® baking mat. Place the salmon filets skin side down in the center of the baking sheet and set aside.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together the orange juice, honey, olive oil, balsamic vinegar, and garlic. Generously season with salt and black pepper, to taste, and brush over the salmon with a silicone brush (like this basting brush set that you can find on Amazon).
  3. Add the asparagus to the bowl with the orange juice mixture and gently toss to combine. Season with additional salt and black pepper, to taste.
  4. Arrange asparagus around the salmon fillets in a single layer and place sheet pan in a pre-heated oven. Bake for 15-18 minutes, or just until the salmon is flaky and the asparagus develops a bit of color, being careful to not overcook the salmon.
  5. If the salmon flakes easily with a fork, it is done.
  6. Remove from oven and serve immediately. Enjoy!
