Eye of Round Roast with Onion Soup Mix

I first had this dish at my father in law’s funeral of all places. It was a dish that one of the family friends dropped off and when I asked for the recipe, I couldn’t believe it was as easy as I was hearing.

Literally an Eye of Round Roast and an envelope of onion soup mix was all that I needed.

That’s it? Yes. That is it.

What is difference between Chuck Roast and Eye Round

These cuts of beef are actually very different from one another. Although they are both used for beef roasts, the method of cooking is not the same.

A chuck roast is a cut from the shoulder and is fatty, making it perfect to cook in liquid in a low and slow oven.

Eye of Round is cut from the hind leg and is very lean without much fat. Cooking this cut in a crockpot is perfect because it allows the steam and juices to create a tender roast.
