As I am working from home now, I am trying to plan out our dinner menus. Makes it easier. When the meal is crockpot bound? That is ideal. So I came up with this recipe over the weekend. I wanted to make slow cooked BBQ, but instead of defrosting ribs, I took out pork chops instead. Re-working my plan, I came up with a pork and gravy dish that had my son drooling as he walked in claiming “Mom! That smells so good! Can we have that tonight?!”
You will need to start with 8 center cut pork chops and the following:
——–There is a printable recipe below this one.———-
Crockpot Pork & Gravy Recipe
- 8 Center cut boneless pork chops, cubed
- 1 medium onion, sliced
- 1 pkg sliced baby portobella mushrooms
- 1 envelope dry onion soup mix
- 1/2 c water
- 10 oz can cream of mushroom soup
- 3 Tbsp canola oil
- 1 Cup Flour (maybe a tad more)
- 2 tsp each: garlic powder, salt & pepper and McCormicks Montreal Steak Seasoning
Heat oil in pan over medium heat. In bowl, combine flour, garlic powder, Montreal seasoning, salt & pepper; mix well. Dredge pork chop pieces in flour mixture and place in pan to brown.
Place cubes into bottom of crock pot.
When all pork is browned, de-glaze pan with water. Add mushroom soup and onion soup mix. Stir until all bits from bottom of pan are incorporated.
Top with sliced mushrooms and onion. Pour gravy over the top.
Cover and cook on low for 4-6 hours.
Very, very good. Served with a fresh green salad and bread. Yum!

I use the onion soup mix and cream of mushroom soup on roast a lot of times in the crock pot and it is yummy that way too. I don’t even add anything else. By the end of the day you can shred it up and serve it on mashed potatoes or rice. So yummy.
—Well, My crock pot is making this !!! My Fam would love it. I love the crock simmering all day on low. 🙂
Me too! This was a HIT! The leftovers tasted even better! Yum.
This sounds so good! I live in the Chicago area and I swear after Labor Day the temperature drops immediately and fall is here. Thanks for sharing.
I love Chi-town!! The same happens here in upstate NY….After Labor Day the air changes and cozy meals make their way back to the kitchen! This was a hit with the family…they loved it! I will certainly make again…if you make this dish, please let me know how it comes out! 🙂
Kelly, I made it today! My family enjoyed it. I will admit to making two revisions to the recipe: did not use the one onion and I added about 1/2 cup of red wine. Hope you’re having a good weekend. 🙂
Hi Andrea! Oooh..adding wine! Never thought of that- I will try that next time! I’m glad you enjoyed it! 🙂
