An easy way to use up apples and create a delicious alternative to butter. Use as a topping or sauce or in baked goods like muffins or quick bread!

Ingredients

medium apples
peeled and cut into chunks

brown sugar

Instructions
Place all ingredients into a Dutch oven.
Cover and cook over medium-low heat for 1 hour, stirring occasionally.
With immersion blender, blend ingredients until smooth.
Cook additional 15 minutes uncovered, until thick.
Store in Mason jars in fridge for up to 2 weeks.
