It has been a bevy of emotions here lately. One moment pure excitement, the next tears of sadness.
We are packing up our oldest for their Freshman year at college.
It seems like just yesterday that we were filling backpacks with crayons and stickers to go off to kindergarten.
Now it’s packing grown up stuff to go off into the real world.
I came down for coffee this morning and found this next to my seat at the kitchen table.
In our neighborhood, we have seven friends embarking on this journey. Last night, I drove around the hood and left a little something on the porch steps of six other friends; women I’ve known for 12 years who I know are on the same emotional rollercoaster.
I wanted them to know that I was thinking of them and to ensure that each of us take advantage of a little Mommy Time Out to let all this sink in.
