First, I wanted to share a couple favorite photos I took recently at one of the local farm stands…the flowers were so beautiful, I had to grab my good camera and ask them to strike a pose…and oh, did they ever…
So what is new? Where to start….
Let’s do the home front first…
We have a High School Graduate amongst us…yes- our beautiful, smart, wonderful daughter will be receiving her 2013 diploma in a few short days. Which means we have been in the trenches of finalizing college plans, cramming for finals, starting summer jobs and planning a huge party to celebrate. Mother Nature has been testing our patience with all the crazy weather, making outside chores take a higher spot on the to-do list on days that indoor things should be getting done. I guess it all works out in the end, right?
So, yes- planning a big party takes time…especially when you have to do all the cooking! Our caterer backed out and that means cooking for 100+ guests is in order. Again- more planning. I will be in the kitchen cooking up sausage and peppers and other family favorites as well as getting the house in order to welcome guests.
Also- I started a new part-time job! I am the new Cooing School Coordinator at a local kitchen ware store…so far I love it- the folks I work with and being around kitchen gadgets- well, makes my heart swoon.
On the blog front:
I’ve been writing, but more for my food blog Eat Picks ; I’ve been sharing some fun recipes and photographs over there, so you should hop over and check them out when you have a chance. Oh, and get this! Thursday morning, bleary eyed and in much need of coffee, I opened my email to find one of my favorite chefs from Food Network, Mr. Alton Brown had pinned one of my recipes from Eatpicks! How fun is that? I had to take a few sips of my morning joe just to make sure I was seeing it clearly…and yup- that’s what the old eyes saw!
I’ve also been playing “get ahead” with my Tuesday articles for EverydayFamily.com – Some major good recipes are on deck for you to try each and every Tuesday! Be sure to visit!
Ok…Time for another flower photo:
I also have a few other things in the works with the blog…one I’m pretty excited about- a Dole Taste of Spain Fiesta Party-this is a party kit that is being provided by Dole and a local store Price Chopper to enjoy a little taste of Spain with a few of my closest friends! Another Party? I know- but this one is “pre-planned” with great recipes and all I have to do is make Sangria! Look for more details about my party in mid-July! In the meantime- if you want to enjoy some fresh ideas for National Taste of Spain Salad day (6/29), you can check out some great ideas here.
I have not forgotten about my wonderful follow-up posts for the Disney Social Media Moms!! There is SO much to tell you and I want to make sure I do justice to my thoughts about the whole experience! If you missed my first recap post, you can read it here.
Speaking of Disney Social Media Moms- I met the nicest young woman from GoGoSqueez applesauce and have a fun new program in the works over at Eatpicks…I’ll share more AFTER I survive the graduation party!!!
On this note- I must get back to work!! I just wanted to make sure I said hello and hope you are all doing well! I miss you!
