Friday Coffee Talk: Coffee, Cameras & Contests
If you are joining us for the first time- welcome! Our Friday posts on Eat Picks revolves around our favorite morning, afternoon or evening beverage; coffee and a quick recap of the goings on for the past week. It gives me a chance to just write something more than a recipe or post about food. I like to lace my fingers together, give my arms a good stretch and crack the knuckles in order to type whatever is popping in the noggin. I invite you to grab a cup of coffee, tea or what have you and join in.
So, last week I thought we were discussing the 6th version of our Friday Coffee Talk. Well, I counted wrong. We were actually penning our 7th version; making this here post number 8. Math was never my strong point, and I’m ok with that.
So, we fell onto an amazing item last week. I wanted to try it out before sharing…and as you may have guessed, I am giddy with excitement to share with you. The owner of the store I work in part-time sent me a quick text that went something like this:
“Hey, would you want a new lens for your camera?”
“Sure!” (I would never say no to that)
“This is what I have- Canon zoom EF 75-300mm. It’s yours if you want it.”
She found it sitting on the curb in someone’s garbage. Still in the foam wrapping-looking as though it was never used.
In. The. Garbage!!!
These are just a couple of the shots I took while sitting in a Target parking lot… I’m still getting used to it, but I love it!
Can you believe this poor thing was just left on the curb????
I am SO happy to give it a proper home and will love him and squeeze him and call him George.
You may have noticed that I also cooked up a new recipe this week. Yep. We went all-in with a Buffalo Chicken Mac N Cheese that will knock your socks off. This is part of a recipe contest entry that I submitted for Wisconsin Cheese. It’s the first recipe contest I’ve ever entered, so it’s pretty exciting. As an Ambassador for the Food & Wine Conference, we could enter as many as we wished from the contests being held by the sponsors and Cheese won out.
The rest of my week consisted of preparation for our High School graduate and the party that will follow. We have about 100 guests expected to arrive, and I am NOT ready! I have so much to do!! Yikes.
I’m sure that next week, this post will be a bit shorter because I will be in complete panic mode.
And the more I think about it, coffee may not be the best beverage to have with frayed nerves….maybe I’ll opt to do an evening post so I can have a glass of wine instead!
Have a great week and I’ll see you soon!
