Boca Raton

This time last month, I was preparing for a trip to visit a dear friend in Boca Raton, FL. It was a visit slated for relaxing and a little bit of working.

Upon arriving, our first stop was for lunch and a beverage seaside. We stopped in the quaint little town of Ft. Lauderdale by the Sea and lunched at the Aruba Cafe.

We opted to sit outside to enjoy our margarita, mojito and crab nachos…until the annoying birds that loomed overhead chose to dive-bomb and rip the grub right out of my hand- not once, but TWICE! Being completely grossed out, we finished our drinks and moved on to run errands.

The next morning, my friend and I took our breakfast to the Boca Raton beach and strolled along the waters edge. I was very intrigued by the beautiful transparent blue domes on the beach…until she told me NOT TO TOUCH or STEP ON THEM…they were jelly fish and their sting mighty. Yikes!

So I snapped a few photos instead. I just love the ocean. It calms me and forces me to slow down.

The parting shot I will leave you with is an appetizer we shared one afternoon…and this site being primarily food related, I just had to share. This appetizer?

Was THE BEST THING I ATE IN BOCA RATON!

 Boca Raton _PotRoast French Fries

Pot Roast French Fries from Grand Lux Cafe.

The chef who created this morsel should win every medal available.

So very, very good!

I still can’t believe they consider that an appetizer. That would be a full meal+ (or should be, anyway. I’m sure I could find a dessert to complete it). p.s. You need to come back.

You know, after all this time living here I’ve never eaten at Grand Lux. But the french fries sure look delicious. My boys would absolutely love it! And I do hope you’ll come back to Boca soon so that we can meet!!!! 🙂
