I have the perfect treat for you; and not only is this so incredibly easy to make, it’s delicious & healthy too.
Now, I am not saying that the three C’s (Chocolate, Cake, Cookies) should be tossed to the side, but sometimes you want a little something that will stand out from the norm and have an impact.
Yes, these beauties deliver on all counts. They look gorgeous on a plate, are not overly sweet and can be made in less than 10 minutes.
4 oz. cream cheese, softened *
1/4 cup confectioners sugar
1 -1/2 tsp almond extract**
1 lb fresh strawberries (16 0z. container), washed***
In mixing bowl, combine softened cream cheese, sugar and extract and beat with hand mixer until creamy. Place mixture in pastry bag with star-tip (or zip lock bag with snipped corner) -(I used my Pampered Chef Easy Accent Decorator) and set aside. Wash strawberries and dry with paper towel. Slice green tops off so berry can sit flat on plate. Slice pointed end of berry into quarters, (about 3/4 down) careful to not slice completely through. Place tip of pastry bag into center of “X” and pipe cream cheese mixture. Arrange on plate and serve.
* If you did not have time to soften cream cheese, you can place in microwave for 10-15 seconds to soften.
**If you do not like almond extract, vanilla can be used
*** Depending on the size of the berries you may have some left over.
I made these for Valentine’s Day and they were gone with a blink of an eye!
