The Ultimate BBQ Ranch Cheeseburger

As we head into mid-summer, barbecues and backyard picnics are in full swing! I know the grill on my deck is getting a workout. Who wants to turn on the oven when it is 90 degrees outside? Not me, that's for sure! This time of year is also a favorite because I get to enjoy one of my favorite grilled meals- burgers. I'm not picky- I will grill all kinds of burgers- beef, turkey, bean, or veggie- nothing is left out as long as it is full of fantastic flavor. Want to know my secret for the ultimate BBQ Ranch Cheeseburger? Okay, I'll share it with you…but you will have to pinky promise that you will try it!

When it comes to creating flavor, I like to challenge myself to try new combinations of sauces and dressings. Sometimes it works, sometimes not so much. But that should not deter you from at least trying, right? You know what is totally fantastic? Kraft Original BBQ sauce mixed with Kraft Classic Ranch Dressing. Oh, yeah, I went there – and it was glorious!

I set out to Walmart to find what I needed for my recipe to create a new spin on classic flavors. I knew in my head what I wanted to make, but not until I found the Kraft Original BBQ sauce and the Kraft Ranch Dressing did the light bulb really go off. Not only was I going to infuse my burger with this flavor combo…I was going to make my own secret special sauce!

I then moseyed over to the dairy section to look for some cheese- because you NEED cheese for a cheeseburger, right? I found Kraft Natural Cheddar Cheese and grabbed a package. I liked that the slices were big and would fit perfect on my special concoction.

When I got home, I mixed a little bit of this and a little bit of that and viola! These burgers smelled good before even making it to the grill, so I knew I was onto something really tasty.

I mixed up my secret sauce first…1/3 cup BBQ sauce to 2 Tbsp. Ranch dressing. You can completely customize this sauce to your tastes…like more Ranch flavor? Add a bit more…not a fan of the Ranch, use a bit less.

Next I made the burgers- Mixing in 1/4 cup BBQ with 1/4 cup ranch dressing along with a bit of Worcestershire sauce, salt, pepper and minced garlic.

They grilled beautifully and stayed moist and ready for our burger buns. We topped them with a slice of garden tomato, fresh green leaf lettuce and my “secret sauce”, served with fresh made sweet potato fries I baked in the oven and a garden salad and dinner was done! Raves made the rounds as well as thumbs up with “mmm…mmm’s”

Next time you are going to make burgers, don’t be afraid to try adding a few extras before hand- especially salad dressings and sauces like BBQ sauce- and chances are, I bet you will find a combo you and your family will enjoy!
