Keeping the travel legs moving, this week’s Friday Coffee Talk post has a couple highlights from our spur of the moment trip to Mystic, CT. This was my very first time in this sleepy little town and I can’t wait to go back to explore even more!
Last week we were in sunny Florida as we attended the Food & Wine Conference, which by the way, was fantastic!
The food, new friends, meeting Cabot Cheese and rock solid sessions, all came together to make a recipe of awesome. I can’t wait to share more about my experience in a post next week! Stay tuned.
But, I must share, that the Poutine Lunch Bar? That was off-the-hook! This here is Tater-Tot Poutine with soft poached egg, bacon, gravy and cheese curds.
This is why you will need to come back next week to ready my Food & Wine Conference recap post- where all the delicious things will be shared!
Ok, back to our travels this week!
The schedule in our house is complete and utter mayhem right now. I’ve been traveling, hubs has been traveling and the kids are working and squeezing every bit out of summer they can get before going off to college. I cannot believe we only have a week left in July. Crazy.
Because of this insanity, hubs invited me to come along with him to Mystic, CT. I jumped at the chance to spend some quality time together; threw an overnight bag together and we were off. I’ve never been to this area and after checking out the downtown Mystic Facebook page, decided it was a good idea to bring my “Big Girl” camera.
While hubs attended his meetings, I was off to explore the place that inspired the movie “Mystic Pizza” for the entire day. Not only was the walking museum fantastic, but the place is like eye-candy for a photographer. I couldn’t click fast enough! I’m still editing photos, but here is one you may like:
I took this as we waited for our table at Red 36. Such a beautiful place.
And I must admit, this was the first time I ever ordered a Lobster Roll. I figured if I was going to order lobster, it should be in a coastal New England town!
I was not disappointed:
I will be following up with this travel destination with a post as well. So much to share with you!
And finally, I want to thank all of you who have gone to our Facebook page to join our community! Thank you so much & welcome! Don’t be shy- leave a comment or two and share with us your favorite recipes, places, gadgets and food finds!
New recipes and posts coming next week! Look forward to seeing you!
