Are you new to our little corner of the web? Welcome! Yes, Eat Picks is primarily and food & lifestyle blog, but sometimes, I want to write about more than delicious food, travels and photography. I need an outlet! So, every Friday I have a little recap of happenings from the week. It’s a day where writing, or sometimes a pure brain dump is what’s on the table as we partake in our favorite beverage : coffee. Feel free to pour yourself a cup of joe and join the conversation; there’s always room at the table.
This week, Friday Coffee Talk is all about recipes and food finds.
I hope you had a nice July 4th holiday! I ended up working the entire weekend and by the time Monday rolled around, I had no idea what day it was! Ever have that happen? It took me until Thursday to finally get my bearings.
Will This Mattress be “Just Right”?
A few weeks ago we talked about getting a new bed. Well, we realized the one we picked out was wayyyy too soft. We couldn’t even sit on the edge of the mattress to put our shoes on because it gave way and we would slump right to the floor. Good thing we opted for the “Comfort Guarantee”! Thanks Serta for offering this! We just exchanged our old “new” mattress for the same version only in firm and I’m happy to report we can now sit properly on the edge. Jury is still out on whether a good night’s sleep will be had. I’ll keep you posted.
Recipe for Me, A Recipe for You…
Last week I shared our Red, White and Blue Stuffed Strawberries and Snow Cone Cupcakes and I am yet again humbled by the response. I had a woman come into the store where I work to show me a picture of her stuffed strawberries that she made from our recipe and how they were a huge hit. I LOVE when that happens! 🙂
This week we had a yummy Ale Pulled Pork on the blog and I find that I am excited to share…
When shopping for grad party items, my eye immediately caught this Cabot Cheese label walking by the dairy case:
That’s right…Everything Bagel! Now, I have a super recipe for homemade everything bagels, but to find in cheese form? Oh, yeah! So, I added it to my power egg breakfast sandwich and it was stupid good. Like eating a bagel sandwich, without all the bread. Folks on Facebook shared that Cabot has a “Cheese Locator” button on their website to see if this is available at a store near you. I’m telling you, if it is, get it!
Here is the recipe for my Breakfast Sandwich:
Power Egg Sandwich
- 1 english muffin; toasted
- 1 c fresh baby spinach
- 1 egg
- 1 Tbsp minced garlic
- 1 tsp olive oil
- 3 small slices of Cabot Everything Bagel Cheddar Cheese
- Add oil to pan and heat over medium heat.
- Add spinach and minced garlic. Cook until wilted.
- Beat 1 egg and pour over wilted spinach.
- When egg is cooked, remove and place on toasted english muffin.
- Top with cheese and eat up!
And last but certainly not least…
